Decision

The Committee resolved:-

(i)             to request that officers advise Councillor Tissera of the monthly spend on temporary accommodation;

(ii)            to note the progress made between June 2026 and October 2026;

(iii)          to authorise the Chief Officer - Housing to make changes to the classification of very sheltered, sheltered and amenity accommodation in cases where the assessed list(s) of applicants for such properties has been exhausted (as detailed in Appendix A) and to report back on any such decisions through Housing Board Bi-annual Reports; and

(iv)          to instruct the Chief Officer - Housing to immediately cease the current practice of redesignating bedsit cottages and one-bedroom mainstream cottages as amenity accommodation when they become void, and to instead retain and advertise these properties, when they become void, as mainstream accommodation through Choice Based Lettings (as detailed in Appendix A).
