Purpose

To prevent Foveran School from exceeding
capacity and ensuring that the school can still deliver education
to all current pupils, a limit needs to be placed upon the overall
pupil numbers.

Content

The Committee provided the following
comments:
a)   
The comments made in relation to Item 8 should be taken into
consideration,
b)   
It would be helpful for ECS to have insight into how many parents
preferred the different proposals, hearing from both Foveran and
Tipperty parents, as well as the wider community,
c)   
Call-in by the Scottish Government, in respect of the merger
proposal, should not be in our consideration,
d)   
There needs to be more information about the soft capping proposals
first,
e)   
If capping is the preferred option, we still have an issue for
families being split.
 
The Committee agreed, subject
to the comments that have been made, to receive a further report
back to the Formartine Area Committee, following the consideration
and decision of ECS and Full Council. 
Members should also receive informal annual updates.
