Purpose
This report seeks comments from Committee on
the draft Strategic Housing Investment Plan 2026-2031 which will be
presented to Communities Committee on 6 November 2025.
Decision
Committee agreed to provide the
following comments to the Communities Committee:-

Consideration should be given to clarifying the process for the
housing settlement scoring system (Page 72);
·
Consideration should be given as to whether the target of 250
houses developed per annum is overly ambitious;
·
Consideration should be given to whether the balance between
quality of development and speed of development is at the correct
level for delivery of affordable housing;
·
Consideration should be given as to how to better promote housing
options to key workers; and
·
Recognising the importance of early notice of the Scottish
Government funding; consider whether anything can be done to
strengthen this message to Scottish Government.
