Members voted 10:4 in favour of the
motion:
 
1.         Agree to
accelerate a comprehensive review of all speed-related policies
with the aim of developing a new Speed Management Policy framework.
This review will:
a. Take account of
evidence gathered during this and previous related Member Promoted
Issue (MPI) processes.
b. Consider
historic requests for speed limits that previously did not meet
policy requirements.
 
2.         Agrees
that this committee will defer consideration of the request to
introduce a weight restriction, and the requested speed limit until
the new policy has been approved. 
 
3.         Agrees
that this Committee will defer consideration of all new and pending
requests referred from Area Committees for speed limit changes
until the new policy has been approved.
