Purpose
To seek committee's approval of the planned revenue works for 2026-27, to seek comments on the proposed capital works for 2026-27, and to update committee on 2025-26 works.
Decision
The Committee:
(1) noted the update on the 2025-26 works provided in Appendices A, B, C and D,
(2) approved the proposals in Appendices E, I, J and K for allocating revenue funding within their area for Roads and Bridges, and
(3) provided the following comments to Infrastructure Services Committee:
a) As regards the delay of the LED rollout, will the Service be supplying details of carbon emissions which take this into account?
b) The publicity around the new interactive map was welcomed and it would be good to have an update on when this was happening so Councillors were aware,
c) When the new systems are launched online it should be an incremental rollout to ensure ease of access and use,
d) It should be clear that the surface works to Ellon Roundabout were the roundabout, not Ythan Terrace as it suggested within the papers,
e) Noting the bridge repairs being carried out, is there a ringfenced sum for historic assets?
f) Local data collection systems relating to roads and safety would be very helpful to explore,
g) Acknowledged the small budget available from central government vs the works required in the area,
h) It was important to keep Councillors up to date with any changes to prioritisation and works being carried out, and
i) It would be helpful to understand the process for determining the priority for replacement lamp standards.
