Comments to Communities Committee on the draft
Housing Management Policy:-
 

a)     
There were a couple of instances in the report appendix where
‘understating’ is to be changed to
‘understanding’ – 3.10 at p102 and 3.33 at page
105.

b)   
minimise use of acronyms in the policy for example HMT

c)   
energy efficiency improvements for homeowners (3.37), make clear in
policy that the liability sits with the homeowner re any advice
given by officers, awareness of potential future impacts on
resale/mortgages

d)   
welcomed zero tolerance to damp, condensation and mould issues
affecting tenants homes (3.33), suggested that timescales are
included in the policy and targets for performance reporting

e)   
further expansion on para 3.24 to include action which can be taken
for antisocial behaviour, for example eviction

f)     
Include in the policy staff training is provided on trauma informed
practice

g)   
mental health and wellbeing impacts to be reflected in the
policy

h)   
include reference to ‘and any other standards’ at
3.12., further details on the 30-year programme of investment and
priorities i.e. HRA Business Plan to be included

i)     
IIA – members noted some areas seemed to be repeated in the
document, would expect to see variances due to service and cultural
changes, for example bio-diversity and resilience
