Purpose

The draft Local Housing Strategy sets out the
key priorities for the housing service over the period 2024 –
2029. It details the strategic direction, policies and plans to
enable Aberdeenshire Council and its partners to deliver high
quality housing and housing services to meet the needs of local
people across all housing tenures. Members are asked to provide
comment on the draft strategy to Communities Committee prior to
approval.

There had been circulated a report by the
Director of Environment and Infrastructure Services regarding the
draft Local Housing Strategy which set out the key priorities for
the housing
service over the period 2024 – 2029. It
details the strategic direction,
policies and plans to enable Aberdeenshire
Council and its partners to
deliver high quality housing and housing
services to meet the needs of local
people across all housing tenures. It also
allows the service to plan for the
future by using an outcome focused approach
and annual review to allow
the strategy to adapt to a changing
environment.
1.1.2 Members are asked to provide comment on
the draft strategy to
Communities Committee prior to approval.
1.2 The Committee is recommended to:
1.2.1 Discuss the draft Local Housing Strategy
Appendix 1; the
associated Draft Local Housing Strategy Action
Plans Appendix
2; and Housing Supply Target Methodology Paper
Appendix 3
and provide comments to the Communities
Committee.
