Purpose

Following an initial trial period of a peak
time traffic restriction on streets near Fraserburgh South Park
School, this report will seek approval to carry out additional
trial sites across Aberdeenshire. The intention is to introduce a
further 5 sites in the remaining Aberdeenshire Council Area. The
School Streets initiative aims to reduce congestion and improve the
perception of safety in the immediate vicinity of schools.

Content

Following a constructive
discussion on the report where the Committee expressed its support
for the pilot already undertaken and welcomed the extension of the
pilot to 5 other Schools the Committee agreed the
recommendations.

Martin to discuss with the
service to see if there is any support available in assisting
Portlethen Primary School with their parking issues.
