Committee agreed to grant Full Planning
Permission with planning conditions delegated to Planning. As on
balance the brewery development outweighed the officer
recommendations to refuse as the development would enhance the
local and rural economy, food production, renewables and had
synergy to the existing business on site and no other similar sites
would be able to deliver that synergy.

Policy 9: Brownfield, vacant and derelict land and empty buildings
of National Planning Framework 4 and Policy R2: Development
Proposals Elsewhere in the Countryside of the Aberdeenshire Local
Development Plan 2023 - Members felt the site had synergy to the
existing business, no other availability of similar locations
locally which outweighed the brownfield policies.

Development Plan 2023 - Members felt on balance the development
would contribute to the sustainability and diversity of rural
communities and local rural economy.
 
National Planning Framework 4 Policy 26:
Business and industry and Policy B2: Employment/Business Land of
the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan 2023 – Members felt
the existing business on site and development of the new brewery
business would bring business/employment opportunities and
synergy.
