Purpose

This report is to ask Committee to consider
and agree the Tackling Poverty & Inequalities annual report
along with the Aberdeenshire Child Poverty Local Action Report
prior to their publication

Content

Prepare and circulate
narratives on the causation of the increases in relative child
poverty. This information should be provided on a localised level
(and circulated to all councillors).
 
Update table 3.5 on page 172 of
the agenda pack – to include a distinction between relative
and absolute poverty to provide a clearer picture of the severity
of poverty in different areas
 
The future reports to include a
narrative around the underlying trends around young people living
in poverty, including if changes are independent of interventions
or due to aging out.
 
The Director of Environment and
Infrastructure Services to continue to work with strategic
partnerships groups, and other partners regarding transportation as
it relates to Tackling Poverty and Inequalities. He should ensure
work is remitted through the partnerships and appropriate update
reports are prepared for this Committee and others.
 
Delegate further consideration
of the Information & Advice Framework to Amanda Roe, Annette
Johnston, and the Chair/Opposition Spokesperson. If updated, this
will be reported back to the Committee.
