Purpose

The report seeks comments on draft updated
passenger transport policies to take effect from 2025. These
include policies on public transport, home-to-school transport and
adult social work transport. Area Committee comments will be shared
with the Infrastructure Services Committee, Education &
Children Services Committee and/or Integration Joint Board for
their consideration when they are asked to approve the
policies.

Content

Committee agreed to provide the following
comments to ISC for their consideration:
 

1.   
Helpful if changes to policy area were highlighted to ensure
clarity when presenting to committee.

2.   
Council should ensure that input to commercial companies on
timetabling be more accessible, visible, routes to main employment
towns alongside connecting journeys to towns/villages and timetable
syncing of these.

3.   
Further recommendation to be included to look more closely at a
franchise delivery model and improved monitoring of the services
provided.
