About

The Cabinet is responsible for most of the council's day-to-day decisions, operating under a strong Leader executive model. It comprises the Council Leader and up to nine Cabinet Members, each overseeing specific service areas or Portfolios .

The Cabinet makes key decisions on matters included in the budget and schedule of key decisions, and considers recommendations from Overview and Scrutiny, the Monitoring Officer, and the Chief Finance Officer. It also develops new policies, encourages public participation, and represents the council externally.
