Purpose

The Cabinet will be asked to approve proposals
relating to the re-tendering of the Homecare Service, with the
intention of lead providers delivering a locality-based model.

Content

Cabinet resolved to:
 
(i)  Agree that the
Council proceeds with the procurement of a four-year Framework
(multiple contracts) for the provision of 18+ Homecare Services in
Adult Social Care in line with Option 3.1.B and in accordance with
the strategy set out in the report;
 
(ii)  Approve the waiver
of Contract Rules to enable the use of care packages from, and
subsequent payments to, non-framework providers for existing
homecare packages in order to ensure
continuity of care for service users, and
 
(iii)  Authorise the Strategic
Director, Children and Adults, in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Adult Social Care and Health Integration, the Strategic
Director, Resources and the Head of Legal, to conduct the
procurement and enter into the contracts and all other necessary or
ancillary agreements and/or documents to fully implement and effect
the proposals.
