Purpose

The Cabinet will be asked to approve proposals
relating to the commissioning of Healthy Weight Services via a
contract with an organisation with expertise in developing innovative healthy weight initiatives and engaging
with communities, which would support local
residents to achieve healthy weight by testing out interventions and evaluating
different models of prevention, culminating in the production of a
sustainable, system wide, all-age, ‘Healthy Weight Action
Plan’ for the Borough.

Content

Cabinet resolved to:
 
(i)  Agree
that the Council proceeds with the procurement of a contract for a
Community Healthy Weight Development Partner in accordance with the
strategy set out in the report; and
 
(ii)  Delegate
authority to the Strategic Director, Children and Adults, in
consultation with the Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care and
Health Integration and the Head of Legal, to conduct the
procurement and award and enter into the contract and all other
necessary or ancillary agreements, including periods of extension,
to fully implement and effect the proposals.
