Purpose
The Cabinet will be presented
with a report on the updated Consumer Standards introduced by the
Regulation of Social Housing Act 2023 and the confirmed tenant
satisfaction measures (TSM's) the Council is required to report
on, and asked to endorse the Council's
approach to monitoring and reporting performance to tenants and the
Social Housing Regulator.
Content
Cabinet resolved to:
(i) Note the scope of
the updated Consumer Standards and Tenant Satisfaction Measures
required under the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023;
(ii) Note the
Council’s performance against the TSM’s during 2024/25,
as detailed in section 3 of the report, which reflected a positive
movement in 11 of the 12 categories;
(iii) Endorse the
Council’s approach to monitoring and reporting performance to
tenants and the Social Housing Regulator, including the
establishment of a Resident Panel to monitor progress against TSMs
and to help shape service delivery;
(iv) Agree the areas for
continued focus and the ‘next steps’ aligned to
priority measures, as set out in sections 4 - 6 of the report;
and
(v) Note that performance
against the TSM’s shall be published on the Council’s
website in accordance with the Act.
