Purpose

The Cabinet will be asked to
approve procurement and funding proposals relating to a
CarePort project to improve
sustainability of care and health services in the Thames Freeport
area.

Content

Cabinet resolved to:
 
(i)  Approve the waiver
of tendering requirements under the provisions of Contract Rules
32.1, 33.5 and 33.16 and the direct award of a contract to Care
City CIC to enable the implementation of an integrated health and
care service across Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Thurrock, as
detailed in the report; and
 
(ii)  Authorise the
Strategic Director, Children and Adults, in consultation with
the Head of Legal, to enter into the
contract and all other necessary or ancillary agreements
on behalf of the Council, including its role as the
Grant Funded Authority.
