Purpose

The Cabinet will be presented with a report on the outcome
of considerations into how best to address poverty-related issues
in a targeted way and will be asked to approve a “test and
learn” approach which will involve a series of pilot
interventions to inform anti-poverty work and the development of a
strategy.

Content

Cabinet resolved to:
 
(i)  Agree the
“Foundations for Change: Tackling Poverty 2025/26”
strategy document at Appendix 1 to the report, and
 
(ii)  Note that a
‘test-and-learn’ approach shall be applied to
interventions in the short term and that the Council shall continue
to work with other stakeholders in the Borough to develop a
longer-term approach to tackling poverty.
