Purpose

The Cabinet will be asked to approve proposals relating to
the procurement of an expanded Care Technology service to help
residents live independently and safely at home, while reducing
demand on health and social care services.

Content

Cabinet resolved to:
 
(i)  Approve the
procurement of a new All-Age Care Technology Service in accordance
with the strategy set out in the report, to be commissioned via the
following two Lots:
 

Lot 1 – Core Service Provision for an initial period of three
years from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029, with the option to extend
by up to two additional years, to 30 June 2031 (maximum five years)
and;

Lot 2 – Strategic partner to support change management and
innovation (for a fixed period of up to three years from 1 July
2026 for an initial period of 18 months only, with a single option
18-month extension to 30 June 2029 (maximum three years).
 
(ii)  Approve the
variation to extend the existing contract for three months from 1
April 2026 to 30 June 2026 at a cost of £380,000, in line
with the provisions of Contract Rule 65.2, to provide continuity of
service and enable sufficient time for the mobilisation of the new
contract;
 
(iii)  Authorise the Strategic
Director, Children and Adults, in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Adult Social Care, Health and Housing, the Strategic
Director, Resources, and the Head of Legal, to conduct the
procurement and award and enter into the contract(s) and all other
necessary or ancillary agreements with the successful bidder(s) for
the periods set out above, in accordance with the strategy set out
in the report; and
 
(iv)  Authorise the Strategic
Director, Children and Adults, to allow the inclusion of additional
funding as and when secured for the duration of the contracts.
