Purpose

The Cabinet will be asked to approve a refresh of the Carers Charter and updated Action Plan for 2026-2033, outlining the work that has been done to develop the Carers Charter and the commitments from partners to deliver the associated Action Plan.

Decision

Cabinet resolved to:

(i)  Agree the refreshed Carers Charter 2026-2036 and its associated Action Plan, as set out at Appendices A and B to the report;

(ii)  Note that individual directorates shall be asked to contribute to the work of the Carers Strategic Group and drive forward the delivery of the Carers Charter and Action Plan; and

(iii)  Note that the Health and Wellbeing Board shall receive updates on the delivery and ongoing development of the Action Plan.
