Purpose

The Cabinet will be asked to approve
the Council’s updated Local
Hardship Scheme policies for 2024/25, incorporating the
Discretionary Housing Payment, Household Support, Individual
Assistance Payment and Discretionary Council Tax Hardship
schemes.

The Cabinet will be asked to approve
the Council’s updated Local
Hardship Scheme policies for 2024/25, incorporating the
Discretionary Housing Payment, Household Support, Individual
Assistance Payment and Discretionary Council Tax Hardship
schemes.

Cabinet resolved to:
 
(i)  Approve
the Council’s updated Discretionary Housing
Payment, Household Support Fund and Discretionary Council Tax
Hardship Scheme policy for 2024/25, as set out at Appendix 1
to the report; and
 
(ii)  Delegate
authority to the Strategic Director, Resources, in consultation
with the Cabinet Member for Finance, Growth and Core Services, to
vary the allocation of funding and scheme criteria where
appropriate to reflect future demand.
