Purpose

This report sets out the strategy for
acquiring all leasehold interests within the Silk House and
Shoelands Court estate, including the
offer to leaseholders. Barnet Homes, on behalf of the council, will
seek to acquire leasehold properties by agreement to try to prevent
the need for a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO). Acquisitions will
be carried out under compulsory purchase compensation rules. A
shared equity scheme will be offered to eligible resident
leaseholders and all resident leaseholders will be assisted to find
a suitable alternative property.
