Purpose

The
existing modular building at Oakleigh School has been affected by
significant leaks due to inadequate surface water drainage so many
of internal areas have been damaged. Also, the existing low-level
fence in various areas of the school yard doesn’t provide
safe access and movement of the SEN children.  Consequently, the proposed works have been
prioritised in accordance with the Council’s Modernisation
Programme and SEN Programme 2025/2026 and verified by the BELS and
Estates / Building Services Team of London Borough of
Barnet.
The
design and specification were taken via the design and build
procurement route using the SW Bruce, LBB Term
Contractor.
The works include
repair/partial replacement of many internal damaged elements of the
building including side panels, toilets and redecoration. Also,
alteration is required to the existing inadequate surface water
drainage by adding ACO drains, new downpipes etc.  Works are scheduled to take place on site during
the summer holidays and to be completed by October 2025.
