Purpose

The Localism Act
2011(“the Act”) introduced the Community Right to Bid
(“CRTB”). Under sections 87 and 93 of the Act the
Council must maintain a list of assets of community value in its
area and a list of land nominated by unsuccessful community
nominations.  A building or other land
is of community value if having regard to the Act and the Assets of
Community Value (England) (Regulations 2012 in the Council’s
opinion there is an actual current use of the building or other
land, which is not an ancillary use, which furthers the social
wellbeing or social interests of the local community, and it is
realistic to think that there can continue to be non-ancillary use
of the building or other land which will further (whether or not in
the same way) the social wellbeing or social interests of the local
community.
On the
9th May 2023 an application was received by the Council
for the application for Ye Old Monken Holt, public house, 193 High
Street, London, EN5 5SU to be listed as an Asset of Community Value
(ACV)
