Decision

To award a twelve month contract, with an
option to extend for a further two years subject to satisfactory
performance, to the Festive Lighting Company, Blackmoor, West
Buckland, TA21 9LQ for the provision of Christmas Lights in
Boston.

After undertaking a competitive RFQ exercise from 23rd June to 21st
July 2023, the Evaluation Panel were satisfied that the Festive
Lighting Company can provide an enhanced lighting display to key
streets within the town centre and scored the highest in the
assessment process.

Christmas lights will add vibrancy to Christmas celebrations in the
town centre and in turn provide a much needed enhancement to the
Christmas offer for local residents and businesses.

Reasons for the decision

To not have Christmas lights. Feedback from
last Christmas (2022) to the Council has indicated that this will
not be well-received by residents, local businesses and visitors to
the town during the time of this important festive
period.
