About

The Cabinet is responsible for developing and proposing the council's policy framework and for all executive decision-making within that framework. Appointed by the Leader of the Council, its members are typically assigned specific executive functions or portfolios.

The Cabinet makes decisions, either as a whole, through individual portfolio holders, or via a Cabinet committee. It may also appoint non-cabinet councillors to help with policy development. Meetings are usually open to the public, unless no key decisions are being made.
