About
The Governance & Audit Committee is responsible for overseeing the council's financial and governance arrangements. It reviews external and internal audit reports, monitors risk management, and ensures adherence to best practice in governance. The committee also approves the annual statement of accounts and advises on maintaining high standards of conduct for councillors. It has a role in considering allegations of misconduct against members and promoting ethical standards.
