Purpose

To request authority to award a contract for Roof Replacement Works at Brent River College, Phoenix Arch School and Lyon Park Primary School via a Framework.

Decision

That the Corporate Director Neighbourhoods and Regeneration:

i)               Approves the pre-tender considerations set out in the report.

ii)              Approves the direct award of contract for Roof Replacement Works at Brent River College, Phoenix Arch School and Lyon Park Primary School to CWG Roofing Ltd in the sum of £375,472.03 by way of a direct award from the LHC Roofing Systems and Associated Works Framework (RS5), Traditional Flat Roofing Lot.

Reasons for the decision

The Council requires the provision of Roof Replacement Works at Brent River College, Phoenix Arch School and Lyon Park Primary School. Council officers have undertaken a procurement exercise using the LHC Roofing Systems and Associated Works (RS5) and identified CWG Roofing Ltd as the contractor providing the most economically advantageous offer in accordance with relevant criteria, and therefore recommend award to this contractor.

Alternative options considered

Officers considered whether the roof replacement works could be provided by the Council itself but concluded that the works were best provided by a contractor.

Officers reviewed a range of procurement options and determined that the use of the framework was the most appropriate and cost effective means of procuring a contractor.
