Housing, Health & Community Committee

The Housing, Health & Community Committee oversees the council's responsibilities for housing, community services, leisure, and health. It is responsible for housing strategies, homelessness prevention and advice, and assessing housing needs.

The committee makes recommendations for budget inclusion on affordable housing and investment programmes. It also deals with private sector housing standards, grants, tenancy management, and the formulation of the Housing Revenue Account budget, including rent setting. The committee also has a role in community initiatives, voluntary sector engagement, leisure and sports strategy, health and wellbeing, safeguarding, and community enforcement activities.
