Purpose

This reports updates Members on the
regeneration of the West Wickham Leisure Centre.

That
1. 
The addition of £2.3m to the Capital Programme
be approved, increasing the Leisure Centres capital allocation from
£35.523m to £37.823m, which is inclusive of external
grant funding, S106 Carbon Offset funding and internal capital
funds (noting that this capital budget is for both the Walnuts and
West Wickham Leisure Centres).
2. 
The partial demolition of West Wickham Leisure
Centre, as required, be approved and the submission of appropriate
building control and planning notices to allow demolition works to
progress be noted.
3. 
The submission of a revised Planning Application for
the West Wickham Leisure Centre, based on existing public
engagement be approved.
4. 
A £678,712 variation to the existing Access
Agreement with Alliance Leisure Services to deliver appropriate
design, cost and management services in preparation of the main
works be approved.
5. 
A £821,288 variation to the existing
Development Management Agreement with Alliance Leisure Services to
partially demolish the existing building and conduct appropriate
surveys to prepare the site for delivery of the main
works be approved.
6. 
A communications strategy be devised for the West
Wickham centre so that quarterly reports on the progress of the
works can be published to keep residents and users
informed.
