Independent Remuneration Panel

The Independent Remuneration Panel is a legally required body that makes recommendations on the allowances paid to Broxtowe's elected councillors. The panel, comprising at least three members who cannot be councillors themselves, reviews the council's allowance scheme annually. While the council must consider the panel's recommendations, it is not obligated to implement them. The panel gathers information from councillors and other councils, conducts interviews, and performs research to inform its recommendations.
