Purpose

Timetable for the Local Development Scheme for Buckinghamshire

Decision

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) set out the timetable for the production of Local Development Documents (LDDs) which included the Local Plan and associated documents. Councils were required to produce the LDS in accordance with the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended). Where appropriate it should also include details of other documents that would form part of the development plan, for example neighbourhood plans.

The LDS and any amendments made to it must be made publicly available and should be published on the Council’s website and kept up-to-date. The LDS had been updated to reflect the current position of the Local Plan and other development plans and to respond to the latest national guidance. In December 2024, the government published announcements for all local planning authorities to produce an updated LDS within 12 weeks of the publication of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), giving a deadline of 6th March.

RESOLVED that the updated Local Development Scheme to have effect from 11th March 2025 be agreed.
