ends of the Buckingham Railway Walk (on the A421 Ring Road and on

2. Converting sections of the Buckingham Railway Walk to shared use
pedestrian and cycle path.

Reasons for the decision

Buckinghamshire Council are proposing to
improve the Buckingham Railway Walk for walking, wheeling and
cycling between Tingewick Road and the A421 Ring Road, Buckingham,
and introduce formal crossing points to support onward
journeys.

This includes the proposed introduction of the two toucan crossings
with regard to Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
facilitating the passage of the users of the Buckingham Railway
Walk across the A421 Ring Road and Tingewick Road.

Further to this the Council is proposing, pursuant to Section 65 of
the Highways Act 1980 and Section 3 of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984,
to convert parts of existing permissive pathway into shared use
paths for use by pedestrians and cyclists in accordance with the
standard signage and markings.
