Summary
... whether to implement the advertised Traffic Regulation Order for parking restrictions near Winslow Station 2025, excluding certain residential areas due to lack of support, and to reduce parking charges at the new station's car park.
Full council record
Purpose
The aim is to introduce a number of parking restrictions around Winslow, in anticipation of the new Winslow railway station.
Decision
The Leader approves the implementation of the advertised Traffic Regulation Order, with the exception of the proposals for residential parking permits and limited waiting in the following locations:
Location
Notes
Buckingham Road
in front of properties 12 to 34
Courthouse Close
whole of road
High Street
Between properties 128 and 170
Highfield Road
whole of road
Park Road
whole of road
Piccadilly
whole of road
Station Road
Between Buckingham Road and Claremont Close (both sides)
The locations detailed in the table above have been excluded due to insufficient support received during the consultation process. All other parking restrictions are recommended to proceed as planned.
In order to encourage use of the car park from outset once opened, the recommendation is to reduce the actual charge for the “up to 9 hours” tariff from £6.10 to £3.50 and the “over 9 hours” tariff to be reduced from £8.10 to £4.50 in the next notice of variation early 2026, prior to the car park opening for public use. The reduction in the parking charges will seek to promote use of the car park from the opening of the new railway station and charging arrangements will be kept under review as usage and demand for the station becomes established.
