Purpose

The project is aimed to create safer, more accessible routes through the area through improvements in the Bedgrove Area of Aylesbury.

Decision

The Leader:

APPROVED the introduction of a raised table parallel crossing on Turnfurlong Lane next to the junction with Camborne Avenue, upgrade of the existing Puffin crossing on Camborne Avenue to a Toucan (Shared Use) crossing and conversion of existing footways on either side of the crossings to shared use.

APPROVED the revised proposals to construct and convert the existing permissive paths into shared use pedestrian and cycle track within Bedgrove Park following consultation feedback.

NOTED the previous decision in March 2025 to delegate to the Service Director, Highways and Technical Services, in consultation with the relevant portfolio holder, the approval of contractual commitments up to the value of the released funded budget of £1,239,546 to complete design, tender and delivery of the project.
