Full council record

Purpose

The Conservation Areas for Buckingham, Haddenham and Winslow have been amended and public consultation has taken place. These three documents are now being brought forward for adoption.

Decision

The Conservation Areas for Buckingham, Haddenham and Winslow had been reviewed to ensure they were up to date, fit for purpose and inform place-making and regeneration.  Conservation Area appraisals for key towns formed an important part of the evidence base for the emerging Local Plan.  They helped to highlight the special character of these settlements and could help to manage change and growth in an appropriate way.

A six-week public consultation on the draft appraisals concluded on 29th October 2025 for all three areas now being brought forward for adoption.  The results were summarised in Appendix 1.

RESOLVED that

1)      the amended Conservation Area boundaries (Section 5 of the Cabinet report and Appendices 2-4) be adopted.

2)      the updated Appraisals and Management Plans (Appendices 2-4) be adopted.
