Decision

Following both the formal consultation and discussions with Local Members, the recommendation is to proceed with the proposed Traffic Regulation Orders, with the exception of a length of double yellow lines being removed from the proposal to allow resident parking.

Reasons for the decision

To ensure visibility is not compromised due to the introduction of the new cycleway. The double yellow lines, along with the extension of the 30mph speed limit, will improve highway safety along this section of Aylesbury Road.

Alternative options considered

Do nothing - could lead to inappropriate parking blocking existing visibility from nearby junctions and posing a highway safety risk.

Double Yellow Lines throughout the entire section of Aylesbury Road - not agreeable with residents and local members as this could limit the ability of residents to utilise onstreet parking as they currently do.
