Adoption of revised appraisal including amended boundaries and management plan

Decision

The Conservation Area for Aylesbury had been reviewed to ensure it was up to date, fit for purpose and to inform place-making and regeneration. Conservation Area appraisals for key towns formed an important part of the evidence base for the emerging Local Plan. They helped to highlight the special character of these settlements and could help to manage change and growth in an appropriate way.

A six-week public consultation on the draft appraisal concluded on 29th October 2025. The public consultation resulted in some changes to areas proposed for inclusion and exclusion. These changes had been taken into account in the final document, which was being brought forward for adoption.

RESOLVED that

1)      the amended Conservation Area boundary (Section 5 of this report and Appendix 1) be adopted.

2)      the updated Appraisal and Management Plan (Appendix 1) be adopted.
