To enter into a new lease

Reasons for the decision

The terms of the new lease are in line with the market and will continue to generate a revenue to support delivery of the Council’s services and meeting the Council’s obligations under Section 123 of the Local Government Act 1972.

Alternative options considered

Not to renew the lease:
Benefits: None
Disbenefits: The Council would become liable for the void costs if the tenant vacated the area they occupy. It is unlikely another tenant would take a short term lease without a void
