Purpose

To approve disposal of a Council-owned site

Decision

In accordance with the Cabinet Decision on 11 November 2025, the site was widely marketed for disposal. Four bids were received and considered.  Two were subject to planning while two were unconditional. The Cabinet report recommended that one of the conditional offers was accepted by Cabinet as it represented best value to the Council.

The recommended offer exceeded the capital receipt target for the site in the Medium-Term Financial Plan (“MTFP”). The details of all the bids received were included in Confidential Appendix B.

RESOLVED 

1)      That the disposal of the Council owned site in Wing to the preferred bidder on the terms set out in the Confidential Appendix A be approved.

2)      That authority be delegated to the Corporate Director for Resources in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Resources to finalise the terms of the legal documentation to give effect to the disposal and to the Head of Legal to take all necessary steps to serve any associated notices.

3)      That authority be delegated to the Corporate Director for Resources in consultation with the Cabinet member for Resources to exchange and complete the land sale contract and other related legal documentation including service of notices and submission of any related applications.
