To grant new lease to Croft Cars Ltd. in respect of Building 4 & 5, yard adjacent building 5 and surrounding land, London Road Depot, London Road East, Amersham

Reasons for the decision

The subject Property is located within the Council’s Depot at London Road East, Amersham.
The Depot site is also home to the Council’s (1) waste collection contractor (Veolia) (2) waste recycling contractor (FCC Environment) and (3) Highways contractor (Balfour Beatty).
The subject Property consists of 2 garage/storage units with storage yard and landscaped area adjacent.
Croft Cars Ltd. currently occupy one of the garage/storage units under the name of P&D
Sales. The remainder of the Property is currently vacant.
Croft Cars Ltd. intended use is for car storage and operating a food/catering van, subject to necessary approvals.
Provisional lease terms have been agreed with Croft Cars Ltd.

Alternative options considered

Council openly markets the Property:
Benefit - Council will ascertain if there is any interest in the Property and the associated terms
Disbenefit - Croft Cars Ltd (as P&D Sales) have been in occupation for several years at London Road Depot.
Opportunity to let Property (which represents all the
remaining vacant space at the Depot) may not come
around again.
No marketing and further void cost
