Purpose
Proposal for a new EV Hub at Handy Cross High
Wycombe
Content
The Council were approached
last year with a proposal to site an EV Hub on the current park and
ride site at Handy Cross High Wycombe. It was considered that this
was in line with the adopted Electric Vehicle Action Plan 2022
– 2027 and potentially a particularly effective use for part
of this site. The Council went to the market to establish the
viability of this idea and to assess market interest. The response
was better than expected (c 15 EOI’s) and as a result the
Council had received new, much improved proposals. The proposed
scheme was for an EV charging plaza with 30 to 40 Ultra-fast EV
charging points and a drive through food and beverage kiosk with WC
facilities. Cabinet discussed the tender process and the statement
made from Fisher German to ensure that value for money was
obtained.
RESOLVED –
That
authority be delegated to the Service Director Property and Assets,
in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Accessible Housing and
Resources and the Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Transport,
to enter into an Agreement to Lease and subject to the proposed
Tenant obtaining a successful planning consent a lease and any
other associated legal agreements deemed necessary for the
underutilised Council owned land, (currently part of a site that is
used as Park and Ride spaces), to allow it to be repurposed for use
as an Electric Vehicle (EV) charging plaza with 30 to 40 Ultrafast
EV charging points and a drive through food and beverage kiosk with
WC facilities.
