Camden’s
Constitution sets how we operate, how decisions are made and the procedures
which are followed to ensure that these are efficient, transparent and
accountable to local people.
The law
requires some of these processes, while others are a matter for us to choose.
The
Constitution is divided into articles which set out the basic rules governing
our business; where responsibility for decisions making lies; the rules
governing meetings of the authority; the codes and protocols that councillors,
officers and meetings need to follow; the Council’s councillors allowance
scheme; and its management structure. More detailed information can be found in
the Constitution attached to this webpage.
