About
The Audit Committee provides independent assurance on the Council's risk management, internal control, and governance processes. It reviews the effectiveness of internal audit work and considers the annual accounts. The committee's role is to ensure that the Council's financial and operational systems are robust and that public money is used appropriately. It does not have executive decision-making powers but makes recommendations to the Council.
