Overview and Scrutiny Committee - expired (now Overview Committee)

The Overview and Scrutiny Committee reviews reports and proposals before they are presented to the Cabinet, covering the Council's policies, projects, budget, and services. It provides constructive input and advice to Cabinet members, and members of the public can speak on reports being considered. The committee also contributes to policy development through task group reviews and acts as a community champion by allowing councillors to raise general concerns. Some functions, including reviewing 'called-in' Cabinet decisions and monitoring financial and service performance, are delegated to a Scrutiny Sub-Committee.
