About
The Standards and Audit Committee oversees the council's adherence to its Code of Conduct for councillors and its audit procedures. It handles complaints about councillors potentially breaking their Code of Conduct, with the Monitoring Officer deciding on initial actions and the committee conducting hearings for investigated complaints. The committee also reviews the effectiveness of the council's risk management, internal controls, and corporate governance, making recommendations for improvement. Its responsibilities are further detailed in Part 2, Article 9 of the Council's Constitution.
