About

The Planning Committee is responsible for making decisions and taking actions on town and country planning matters, including development management and enforcement, as well as administering and enforcing Building Regulations. It determines applications for planning permission, including those made by the Council itself, and handles matters related to advertisements, tree preservation, and public highways affected by development. The committee also addresses high hedges and footpath diversions, and can recommend prosecution or enforcement action. While it informs the Cabinet on Local Plan policies and advises on compensation claims, its primary role is to determine planning applications and related statutory authorisations.
