The Executive Cabinet is responsible for most of Chorley Council's functions that are not assigned to other parts of the organisation. It makes key decisions on a wide range of council services, including economic development, housing, planning, and environmental services. Forthcoming major decisions are published in a Notice of Executive Decisions. The committee is made up of the Executive Leader and six Executive Members, each with specific portfolio responsibilities. The Leader chairs the Cabinet and has overall political responsibility for achieving the Council's objectives, representing the Council in the community and acting as its primary spokesperson.
