Nominations Committee of the Court of Aldermen

The Nominations Committee of the Court of Aldermen is responsible for overseeing the appraisal of Aldermen and making decisions regarding their progression to High Office, such as Sheriff and Lord Mayor. This process is subject to annual elections held at Common Hall. The committee's work on appraisals is supported by an advisory panel of independent business representatives from the City of London.
