The Committee has responsibility in providing effective critical friend challenge to both pre-decision/policy development and post-decision scrutiny to ensure effective decision making processes to improve outcomes for the residents of Cornwall. The Committee’s responsibilities include the discharge of functions relating to the operation, planning and provision of a range of services including: community networks and localism; libraries; leisure; registration; fire and rescue; community safety and emergency management; waste. The Committee also fulfils the Council’s statutory scrutiny responsibility relating to crime and disorder. The Committee may make recommendations to the Cabinet in regard to issues within its remit.
