The Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee provides critical challenge to policy development and decision-making processes affecting health and adult social care services for Cornwall residents. It reviews the operation, planning, and provision of adult and children's health services, and examines legislative changes impacting health and social care in Cornwall. The committee has statutory powers to gather information, ask questions publicly, and make recommendations for improvement, which must be considered. It also scrutinises and develops policy for Adult Social Care and Public Health in collaboration with other organisations to address local health concerns and inequalities.
